My sister got married the summer of 2006 (the day before my birthday…uncool). So afterwards, it was time to take my thoroughly American brother-in-law on a whirlwind tour of our motherland and parade him around like a show pony. I don’t go to Taiwan as often as I’d like, and at this point I hadn’t been back since 2002. So it was good to see Taipei and Kaohsiung again, along with discovering new cousins (my family is on the older side of an extended family with a rather large age range).

While I couldn’t rattle off the names of any particular place we went to (my family led us everywhere), we did work our way from Taipei, to Sun Moon Lake, to Taroko Gorge, to Kaohsiung (my hometown), to Guangfu (my mother’s hometown), and finally back to Taipei.
